Battle Lines is a fun little strategy game. This implementation has a good look and feel but there are some problems that Ive encountered: - Unstable. It crashes frequently and unfortunately the game state is lost. - When the computer opponent plays a tactic card there is no way of knowing which card theyve played. Still, its fun and I expect updates will only improve it. Hopefully network play will be added as a feature.

If you are familiar with this game at all, this is a fantastic implementation of the card game. The AI is average, but still somewhat challenging. The problem lies in that the game locks up FREQUENTLY. As in, every 3rd or 4th play (I am using the most recent iPhone 4G with the latest iOS). You have to uninstall and reinstall the game in order to get rid of the frozen screen. When it does work, its fantastic - quick to learn, quick to play and very enjoyable. Unfortunately, if you have a long commute and want to play several games in a row, you will most likely be out of luck until this problem gets fixed.

An awesome game that had a very annoying tendency to freeze an not allow you to use tactic cards, specially at times when winning would depend on it. The game is very well designed but because this issue continues to go unsolved do not waste your time!

As a card carrying Parade game player and one who plays Schotten Totten on an original deck it is a joy to play this game on my phone. I have had no problems with freezing and it is my new obsession. I would love to see Lost Cities and Kahuna (not sure if that is a Knizia game but it is produced in the same high quality German game box). I am chuffed because we never knew how to use the Schotten Totten extra cards. Now we do and it really ads to the richness of play. Wish I could add an extra star.

Great game - too bad months after the iPad mini release it still doesnt work for me. Warning to other buyers!

Great game in real life and though this app is a bit clunky.

This version has greatly increased the AIs capability. I no longer win every games, the AI is now truly challenging. The game by itself, as ive writen on my previous review, is a 5 star design as are most of Reiner Knizias games, but like most versions of iOS board game, the online mode is crap.

Sarebbe poi auspicabile giocare on-line magari anche tramite Game Center. Good trasposition of Knizias card game. The reproduction of the cards are well done and pleasing. Sound effects and music need an improvement. Desirable the possibility to play on-line even with Game Center

Not bad, the game is intriguing, but there are some possible improvements that would make of it a top level game! - give the possibility to activate/deactivate additional explanations when getting a flag. Sometimes the reasons are obscure... - give the possibility to turn the enemys tiles downwards to read them better when playing solo. - use the game center !!! come on cannot use your proprietary servers... - create a campaign mode, to make a number of battles a war... This would introduce a better feeling than playing 1 game by itself . Thanks !

Only works to play with others if you go through Game Center. Game Center is the worst. Requesting a refund.

Great port of my favorite Knizia game. I love the fact that I can play with or without tactics cards. The AI is challenging enough, but I would like to see the option of a stronger AI. The graphics are great. Well done!

User friendly layout and impressive design. Would love to see online play though like the other port greats. Good job with everything else! Its a beauty!

Great port of the board game! But wheres the multiplayer online? Would have been 5 stars for sure.

The game is nicely done, but in the end it comes down to the ai. I havent lost any of 20 games. If the ai ever beats me, Ill give it 5 stars

Have not played the boardgame version, but I have beaten the Strong AI every time I have played so far (about 12 games.) Port is pretty and mostly user friendly, but I do have some recommendations. It would be nice to touch a Tactics card and read about its function, having to flip through 10-15 "How To Play" Pages is a pain. Also, sometimes the AI move that uses a Tactics Card is so fast I dont know what was done. A little text box indicating what card was played would be nice, maybe with an "OK" touch button. All in all, a pretty game which just needs some minor tweaks.

This is a very good first version of one of my favorite Knizia games. The interface is very nicely developed and the game is easy to play. Unfortunately, it may be too easy to play ... Ive played well over a dozen games and have yet to lose one. The game really needs remote play.

App is elegant in design but lacks a robust AI. Those familiar with the card game will be hard-pressed to lose.

I tried to figure out whether to give this game 3 or 4 stars. In the end, I had to give it 3 stars because I dont play it very often. The reason I dont play it very often is that I always win. It gets boring.

I bought this right when it was released, as Im a huge fan of the physical game...and I was disappointed. The game was glitchy, it didnt always follow its own rules, and when it did, the AI was way too easy. I emailed the developers and received a quick response, asking me to give details about the problems I was having. It was obvious they wanted to improve the game, so I waited to review Battleline until an update was released. With this update, Im happy to say that the game is GREAT. Ive played about 20 games so far, and I havent encountered any problems so far. The AI has also beaten me a few times, and its strong enough to require some thought in order to win. The update made all the difference. I HIGHLY recommend buying this fantastic strategic card game, now that it works properly. Great job, devs!
